Some days there just is not much to write home about. Yesterday was a rainy, dreary day on the
Olympic Peninsula…raining when we left the campground at Kalaloch…and raining
when we arrived at the campground near Lake Crescent.
We did a couple of loads of laundry as we find that we are
running out of our hiking clothing more quickly than anticipated – but that
just means we are doing more hiking! The
kids were thrilled to see that the campground had a mini-golf course, which
they immediately took advantage of upon arrival. We did a bit of re-organizing in the camper, looked
over some hikes we hope to do up near Hurricane Ridge, the kids worked on a bit
of summer schoolwork, I wrote the blogpost, and we cooked a leisurely dinner of
chicken gyros with homemade tzatziki sauce with fresh strawberry pies in our
new pie irons over the campfire for dessert.
Every now and then it’s necessary to just take a breather
day – to let our minds and bodies rest up for the next adventures that await us…
ahhh…
