Picked up the camper today

This morning, Abby, Isaac and I went up to Menlo, GA to pick up our camper - or more correctly a two-bedroom 1 bath home on wheels:  a 31-foot fifth wheel with a bunkroom up front and queen bed in the rear.  When we got there, the kids took turns writing notes to me on a paper airplane, and sailing it to me, as we waited for the seller to arrive.  After getting some tips from their neighbor, who is a retired trucker and expert on fifth wheel hauling, we headed home.  We picked up Tracy at the house and headed to the storage yard.  Let's just say I've never backed up a 31-foot trailer before - I got it in the space but in the future hope to be a bit more graceful about it.

This trailer is just about perfect for us!  In the front bunkroom, there are two upper bunks, a lower bunk, and a little sofa that pulls out like a futon.  The kids were so excited to get to see where they will get to sleep next summer.  I can't wait to get it out for a camping trip during the Christmas break and start learning about it.  Toto, I don't think we're in a little popup anymore.

You guys are going to have a blast! I will check in and see how things are going as this unfolds. We drove out to Yellowstone two summers ago and had a wonderful time there and back. If you need a good recommendation for a lodge and camping spot in the the big horn mountains let me know.

Watch out for bears!

Dear Wheelis-Family,

We belong to the "twinkle-eyed" people who are truly excited about your trip and living precariously through you this summer, especially as we are not going to Europe this year. Our adventure is of the local kind this year so your timing for this "once-in-a-lifetime" trip through America is perfect for us. We will be avid followers on your blog, rest assured. Is there a way to get automatic updates?

Wishing you a safe and fun and exciting and rewarding journey through our beautiful USA! Looking forward to having you back in our neighborhood and home with lots of new memories and impressions.

Your Friends and Neighbors, The Wardrop Family
