Have Truck...Need Camper

Well...I guess we're committed now.  Not only did Matt officially get his sabbatical approved for June 7th - July 19th, 2010, but we have just purchased a new truck that will be able to pull a fifth wheel trailer for the trip.  It's a 2001 Chevy 3/4 ton diesel with only 77,000 miles and it's fully loaded.  Matt is very happy with all of the technical specs and I was very happy with the exterior appearance and leather interior.  The best part is that we should be able to sell the Pilot for more than we paid for the truck - we just have to get it detailed and listed.

We stumbled upon the truck when we were looking at a fifth wheel that looked like it might work.  The owner was selling both in Lavonia, GA (which is north of Commerce on I-85).  We went Thursday afternoon to look at both.  The camper didn't turn out to be as great as we first thought, but we learned an important lesson:  always confirm measurement on the queen bed first to make sure it is really 80 inches long like the floorplan says...  (On the "short" queen that many of the trailers have, Matt's feet hang off the end from the ankle down.)  Matt didn't think the owner would sell the truck without the camper, but thought he would give it a shot anyway.  As it turned out, he did!!
